Surveying
Les Giersch, our in-house Professional Land Surveyor, has over 20 years of construction stakeout experience. With his experience, plan problems get noticed and resolved early before they cost a lot of money. Les oversees three crews that use the latest technology to layout the job accurately and efficiently. The timely stake out they provide allows us to keep all our crews as productive as possible and keep the project on schedule.

Earthwork
When it comes to earthmoving, the most important things are equipment and operators. At Lyons and Hohl we have the best of each. We take pride in our late model, predominantly Caterpillar equipment that keeps projects on schedule with little or no down time for repairs. Most of our operators are long time employees with many years' experience in sitework construction. They have the expertise to get the project done on time.

Pipework
The founders of Lyons and Hohl, Greg Lyons and Ron Hohl, started as a utility company in 1978 doing strictly pipework. Their expertise in pipework is carried over today in four pipe crews that include foremen and operators with literally hundreds of years in combined experience. All our pipe crews use late model Caterpillar equipment. Each crew is equipped with a large excavator (track hoe) for digging and a smaller excavator with a plate tamper dedicated strictly to backfilling and compaction. Used in this manner, manpower and equipment increase production and eliminate trench settlement.

Paving
We provide our own paving services that allow us to better control the quality of the part of the job that everyone sees. We take the quality of the paving very seriously at Lyons and Hohl because it is a very visible reflection of our work. Having our own paving services also allows us to control the scheduling of our paving work. Lyons and Hohl Paving also does outside work for other contractors and developers.
